Ingredients:
- 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas or 1 ½ cups cooked chickpeas (250 grams)
- ¼ cup lemon juice (1 large lemon, 60g)
- ¼ cup tahini (60g)
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 g)
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt (+ more to taste)
- 2-4 tablespoons water, as needed (30g-60g)
Directions:
1. Drain and rinse your chickpeas*.
2. Add all of your ingredients (including the chickpeas) into a food processor. Process until completely smooth, about 5 minutes. If your hummus is particularly thick, you can add in water 1 tbsp. at a time until combined and smooth.
3. Add in any flavor variations that you might like to your food processor (see ideas below!) or serve as-is. Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of cumin. Enjoy!
Tips and Tricks:
*If you have the time and patience to peel the skins off of each chickpea (which can be done by pinching), this will create an even smoother hummus.
